Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are feeling disappointed following the announcement of the nominations for the 2023 Emmy Awards, which are set to take place in Los Angeles on September 18th.
The Emmy nominations for the category “Outstanding Documentary Or Nonfiction Series” did not include the debut Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan featuring the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Among the nominees announced on Wednesday for the prestigious Emmy Awards were “The 1619 Project” on Hulu, “100 Foot Wave” on HBO, and “Secrets of the Elephants” on Nat Geo.
The Emmy Awards, known as the highest honors in television, will be presented during a televised ceremony in Los Angeles on September 18th.
In related news, the Hollywood Critics Awards recently revealed the nominees for the Best Streaming Nonfiction Series on July 12, 2023, with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Netflix docuseries receiving top recognition.
This announcement comes at a time when the couple is facing challenges with their business deal with the streaming giant, following the cancellation of their previous deal with Spotify last month.
Despite the absence of an Emmy nomination, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have received congratulations and praise for their documentary series.
